Big Stone Gap Church of God first started in 1940 on 5th Street.    Our church was located between the current Pizza King  and the town bridge.   Fire later destroyed our building on 5th St.  After a long search we purchased the property at 424 E 6th St N where we are currently located.   Our church later changed its name to Bethesda Church of God .  We are located in the beautiful mountains of Southwest Virginia in a town called Big Stone Gap.  We are affiliated with the Church of God of Cleveland, Tennessee denomination.
